Discipleship

(Leader Pastor Kevin Stout)

Meets on the third Wednesday of every month, 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Our Discipleship combines Lutheranism, how to follow Jesus, and leadership to provide holistic Christianity for the Global Church. The attendees explore what it means to be a Lutheran, a disciple, and a leader in the 21st century. We examine Martin Luther, the Lutheran reformers, Lutheran theology, and the doctrinal heritage and biblical insights that define Lutheranism.

Discipleship training is based on John 17:3, where John said, “And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” The aim is to deepen our knowledge of God and understand the Bible as a whole, from creation to Christ, so one may grow in faith and share God’s Word with others.

Additionally, this group studies God’s laws for leaders and leadership. The Bible teaches us principles of leadership and how to apply them in our world. Whether you are an employee, a boss, a parent, a church member, or a neighbor, you have influence in your sphere. Leadership is neutral, and it is our responsibility to use it for good and to grow God’s kingdom.

Book Club

(Leader Erin Ream and others)

Meets on the fourth Wednesday of every month, 6:30 to 8:00 pm.

Our Book Club is a vibrant community of book lovers who come together to explore diverse literary works, engage in stimulating discussions, and foster a shared love for reading. We meet monthly to discuss a wide range of genres, from contemporary fiction and classic literature to non-fiction and memoirs. Each meeting provides an opportunity to delve into the themes, characters, and narratives of the selected book, offering fresh perspectives and deepening our understanding of the text.

Members vote on the book of the month, ensuring a diverse and enriching reading list. Our discussions are inclusive and respectful, encouraging everyone to share their thoughts and insights. Beyond the discussions, our book club fosters friendships and community at ZION.

Whether you’re an avid reader or looking to rekindle your love for books, our Book Club is a perfect place to connect with others, discover new favorites, and enjoy the journey through the world of literature.

In conclusion: If you want to ‘Know Jesus’ & ‘Make Jesus Known’ I pray you will consider joining one or more of the Wednesday night church activities. As you grow in the Love of Christ by practicing midweek spiritual renewal, community building, focused groups, leadership development with flexibility and routine.

I hope to see you Wednesday night.  WE ARE … WEDNESDAY!!!!

Jesus’ Peace, Pastor Kevin
